Designed to Make an Impact
The StarShade 1300 provides shelter without the enclosed or industrial appearance of a conventional marquee.
Its sculptural canopy is instantly recognisable and highly photogenic, making it an excellent choice for events where presentation matters. Use it as a dining area, cocktail lounge, ceremony shelter, festival hub, outdoor classroom, trade-show display or branded activation space.
Because the tent uses one slim centre pole rather than an internal frame, the sheltered area remains flexible and can be arranged with tables, seating, displays or an open gathering space.
Waterproof, UV-Resistant Event Fabric
The canopy is manufactured from high-performance 600D Oxford polyester weighing 340g/m² and finished with a polyurethane coating.

The StarShade provides effective shelter from rain and sun when correctly installed. As with every open-sided event shelter, wind-driven rain may enter through the archways when side panels are not fitted.
Fast, Straightforward Setup
The StarShade 1300 is supported by a single 75mm-diameter anodised aluminium centre pole with a stable base and integrated lifting jack.
Three pre-measured guide tapes help establish the correct position of the six outer stakes. Once the canopy and guy points are attached, the removable crank handle raises and tensions the structure.
CanvasCamp advises that the StarShade 1300 can be erected by one person in approximately 10–15 minutes once familiar with the process. For first-time installation—and because the packed components are large and heavy—we recommend having at least two capable adults available.
Always follow the supplied installation instructions and ensure every stake and attachment point is correctly secured.
Optional Side Panels
Each of the StarShade’s six archways can accept an optional zip-on side panel.
Side panels are available separately in:
- White
- Transparent
Each panel incorporates a vertical zip that can be opened to create an entrance.
Panels can be used individually on the side exposed to sun, wind or rain, or fitted around the tent to provide greater enclosure. Adding side panels reduces the tent’s wind resistance, so weather conditions and panel orientation must be considered carefully.
Side panels are not included with the StarShade 1300 and must be purchased separately.
Branding and Banners
Integrated loops at the top of the canopy allow up to six removable banners to be displayed.
Each banner can measure up to:
- 2 metres wide
- 1 metre high
This makes the StarShade particularly effective for festivals, sporting events, sponsors, corporate activations, markets and trade displays.
Removable banners provide branding flexibility without permanently printing the main canopy. When left unbranded, the translucent white material can also be illuminated from within for a striking evening effect.
Connect Multiple StarShades
The optional StarShade 1300 Connector can be used to:
- Join two compatible StarShade tents
- Create a protected walkway
- Form a distinctive covered entrance
- Extend shelter beyond one archway
The connector can be divided so that one section is used as an individual entrance awning.

Wind and Weather Guidance
The StarShade 1300 has a specified maximum wind resistance of:
- Up to 50km/h or Beaufort 6 without side panels
- Up to Beaufort 5 when side panels are fitted
These figures rely on the tent being correctly installed with every supplied stake and attachment point secured into suitable ground.
The StarShade should not be erected during severe weather, left unattended in changing conditions or treated as a permanent outdoor structure. Monitor forecasts throughout every installation and lower the tent when conditions approach its stated limits.
Its suitability will also depend on the surface, soil, exposure and installation method. Seek professional advice before using the tent at public or commercial events where engineering, council, venue or insurance requirements may apply.
The StarShade 1300 is not certified as fire-retardant. Confirm the requirements of your venue, council, insurer and event authority before purchase or use.
