Description
Two Doors for Better Access and Airflow
The 600 Double Door has a framed entrance on opposite sides of the tent.
This offers several practical advantages:
- Improved airflow through the tent
- More convenient access for guests
- Greater flexibility when arranging beds and furniture
- Easier movement during workshops or events
- The ability to create separate entry and exit points
- Better connection between indoor and outdoor areas
- More comfortable use by larger groups
Both doors incorporate insect mesh, allowing them to remain open for ventilation while helping keep mosquitoes and other insects outside.
360-Degree Roll-Up Walls
The canvas sidewalls can be unzipped from the groundsheet, rolled upwards and secured beneath the roof.
With the canvas walls raised, the tent transforms into an airy pavilion or shaded outdoor space. A full 360-degree mesh wall remains in position, maintaining airflow and visibility while providing protection from insects.
This feature makes the tent exceptionally versatile. It can function as:
- Enclosed guest accommodation
- An open-sided shade pavilion
- A yoga or workshop space
- A communal glamping lounge
- A children’s activity area
- A dining or event space
- A comfortable summer retreat
When greater privacy or weather protection is required, simply lower and reconnect the canvas walls.
Premium Tentex® TC30 Technical Cotton Canvas
The Sibley Apex 600 Double Door is manufactured from Tentex® TC30 technical cotton canvas.
The dense twill—or “duck”—weave is engineered for professional and intensive use while retaining the breathable comfort that makes canvas accommodation so appealing.
Canvas specifications
- Composition: approximately 95% cotton and 5% polyester
- Weight before treatment: approximately 300g/m²
- Weight after treatment: approximately 360g/m²
- Dense, ring-spun twill weave
- Water-column rating: 420mm
- UV-resistant
- Fade-resistant
- Water-repellent
- Mould- and rot-resistant treatment
- Breathable in warm and cool conditions
- Fire resistance tested to BS 7837:1996
The canvas is treated with a specialist oil-based coating integrated into the fibres before the tent is manufactured. This treatment improves resistance to water, UV exposure, fading, mould and rot without eliminating the natural breathability of the fabric.
Fire-test documentation relates to the tested canvas standard and should not be interpreted as automatic approval for every commercial venue or application. Please confirm the requirements of your council, venue, event authority or insurer before purchasing.
Waterproof, Breathable and Comfortable
The Apex canvas is designed to resist heavy rain while allowing moisture vapour to move through the fabric. This helps reduce the condensation and uncomfortable humidity commonly experienced inside non-breathable synthetic tents.
The combination of technical cotton canvas, roof ventilation, mesh windows, two large doors and 360-degree retractable walls creates an adaptable environment throughout the seasons.
As with any canvas tent, correct pitching is essential. The canvas must remain evenly tensioned so rain can run off effectively. Long-term waterproof performance also depends on regular cleaning, inspection and reproofing when required.
Heavy-Duty Zipped Groundsheet
The tent includes an industrial-strength, bathtub-style groundsheet manufactured from waterproof rip-stop PVC.
Groundsheet specifications
- Weight: approximately 650g/m²
- Composition: approximately 75% PVC and 25% rip-stop polyester
- Raised bathtub edge of approximately 12cm
- Water-column rating greater than 5000cm
- Heavy-duty zip attachment
- Removable for cleaning, transport or open-pavilion use
The raised edge helps stop water, mud and insects from entering at ground level. Because the groundsheet can be completely unzipped, it is easier to clean and allows the tent to be transformed into an open shade structure when desired.
An additional footprint or groundsheet beneath the tent can help keep the main floor clean and provide another layer of protection on abrasive or damp sites.
Windows, Mesh and Ventilation
The Sibley Apex 600 Double Door includes:
- Four mesh-covered windows
- Two mesh entrance doors
- A full 360-degree mesh wall
- External weather flaps
- Upper ventilation points
- Roll-up canvas sidewalls
- Built-in cable-access points
Together, these features allow operators to adjust airflow, privacy and insect protection to suit the weather and the way the tent is being used.
Strong Poles, Ropes and Hardware
The structure is supported by spring-loaded, nickel-plated steel poles designed for straightforward assembly and dependable performance.
Additional hardware includes:
- Heavy-duty central pole
- Two supported door frames
- UV-treated 5mm reflective guy ropes
- Aluminium rope tensioners
- Aluminium carabiners
- Forged steel tent pegs
- Heavy-duty SBS zips
- Reinforced seams and stress points
- Integrated storage pockets
- Hanging point for a suitable light or accessory
Every guy rope and attachment point must be installed and tensioned correctly. Do not remove guy ropes to reduce the tent’s footprint, as the complete anchoring system is essential to its performance.
Sleeping Capacity and Furnished Layouts
CanvasCamp lists the Sibley Apex 600 Double Door for approximately 4–12 people, depending on the sleeping arrangement.
As a practical guide:
- Commercial glamping: Very spacious for two guests with a king- or queen-size bed, bedside furniture, seating and storage
- Family glamping: Comfortable for four to six people with beds and belongings
- Group camping: Can accommodate larger groups using sleeping mats or compact camp beds
- Maximum capacity: Up to approximately 12 people in a basic sleeping arrangement with limited furniture
Maximum sleeping capacity is different from comfortable glamping capacity. Commercial operators should plan around the guest experience, furniture, circulation space and any relevant accommodation requirements rather than the maximum number of sleeping mats that can physically fit inside.
Compatible Accessories
The 600 Double Door Apex is compatible with a range of optional accessories, including:
- 6m inner tents
- 6m coir matting
- 6m poly matting
- Additional groundsheet or footprint
- Compatible bell-tent protectors
- Sibley Connector
- Tent stove and stove-exit system
- Heat-resistant stove mat
- Suitable lighting and interior accessories
Compatibility can vary between accessories and configurations. Please contact Breathe Bell Tents before ordering if you would like help assembling a complete commercial or winter setup.
Can I Install a Wood-Burning Stove?
Yes. The Sibley Apex 600 Double Door can accommodate a wood-burning tent stove when the complete system is installed correctly.
The tent does not include a pre-installed stove opening. A compatible stove exit must be installed in a suitable location, giving the operator flexibility when planning the interior.
A safe setup requires:
- A compatible tent stove
- A purpose-designed stove exit
- An appropriate insulated or triple-wall flue section
- A heat-resistant stove mat
- Correct clearances from canvas, bedding and furniture
- Adequate ventilation
- A suitable fire extinguisher and carbon-monoxide alarm
- Compliance with applicable fire, venue, council and insurance requirements
Never leave a lit stove unattended, and always follow the instructions supplied by the stove and tent manufacturers.
Pitching and Handling
CanvasCamp advises that the Apex range can be pitched in approximately 10–15 minutes once the user is familiar with the system.
Because this model weighs approximately 58kg and incorporates two door frames, we recommend at least two capable adults for safer handling and easier setup—particularly during the first installation or in commercial settings.
Allow approximately 1–1.5m of additional clear ground beyond the tent on every side for the guy ropes and anchoring system. The total site should therefore be considerably larger than the tent’s 6m floor diameter.
The supplied stakes are designed for installation into suitable ground. Alternative installations, including platforms, concrete or other hard surfaces, require an anchoring system appropriate to the site. Commercial installations should be assessed by a suitably qualified professional.

Care and Maintenance
The Apex is designed for more demanding use, but no canvas tent is maintenance-free.
To protect your investment:
- Pitch the tent with even canvas and guy-rope tension
- Inspect ropes, poles, pegs and attachment points regularly
- Keep leaves, sap, dirt and bird droppings off the canvas
- Maintain airflow around beds and furniture
- Never store the tent while wet or damp
- Dry the canvas completely before packing
- Inspect for early signs of mould or wear
- Clean only with products suitable for treated tent canvas
- Reproof the canvas when water no longer beads effectively
- Inspect the tent following strong wind or heavy rain
- Lower or remove the tent when severe weather is expected
A compatible protector may help reduce direct UV exposure and keep the canvas cleaner during extended installations, but it does not replace routine inspection and maintenance.
A Professional Canvas Tent—Not a Permanent Building
The Sibley Apex is designed for professional and extended-use applications, but it remains a portable canvas tent.
Its suitability for a commercial project depends on:
- Local planning and building requirements
- Bushfire and severe-weather exposure
- Site drainage
- Wind conditions
- Anchoring method
- Electrical and heating installations
- Accessibility
- Wastewater and guest facilities
- Venue and insurer requirements
- Regular operating and maintenance procedures
Customers should obtain any required approvals and consult their council, insurer and relevant professionals before committing to a commercial installation.
Why Choose the 600 Double Door Apex?
The 600 Double Door Apex offers an unusual combination of scale, comfort and flexibility.
It is large enough to create generous furnished accommodation or a welcoming communal space, while the two entrances and fully retractable walls make it far more adaptable than a conventional single-door bell tent.
For commercial operators, the Apex also provides the advantages of robust materials, replaceable components and ongoing product support. It is an excellent choice for customers who want a premium canvas structure that can be maintained, repaired and adapted as their requirements evolve.
