Some FAQ’s Regarding our New Apex Sibley Tents

– It’s been a couple of years since we purchased, and I’ve noticed some updates/changes on the website.

You’ve noticed correctly! After 20 years, we have updated our ranges:
  • The Traveller: This is the new name for our classic Ultimate range.
  • The ProTech: This remains largely the same, with a few smart feature upgrades.
  • The Apex: This is our new flagship range, specifically engineered for professional and long-term use.
While the Apex is a larger initial investment, it is designed to be 400% to 500% more durable than our recreational models. A ProTech tent typically requires maintenance every 5 to 6 months of use. The Apex only needs attention every 18 to 24 months.

– The guy-rope stakes pictured online (and below) – are these a new addition?
We’ve been making these for over 10 years. They are not included in the tent, they are optional.

– Firstly, do these come in a 5m Double Door configuration and 600 Twin Pro?
  • Sibley 500 Apex: This is not available in a Double Door (DD) configuration.
  • Sibley 600 Twin Apex: Yes, this is available in the Apex version.
– Also, what is the expected life-span of the Apex Tents, in comparison to the ProTech Tents?
See above.

– At $1k more expensive, just trying to figure out whether we would get any more life out of them, in comparison.
For a business, the ROI is significantly higher. You spend much less time and money on cleaning and re-waterproofing, and the tent lasts years longer under heavy use.

– What has been the feedback on the Green Tents VS the Natual Canvas colour? Do they tend to hide the dirt better? Are they a lot darker inside in comparison?

Colour Choice: Natural vs. Green
  • Atmosphere: Natural canvas creates a classic, “glamping,” and airy feel. Green has a more rugged, “bushcraft” or scouting vibe.
  • Temperature: Important to note: a green tent gets significantly hotter in the sun than a natural one.
  • Aging: Since our tents are 100% cotton, the green pigment will fade relatively quickly compared to the natural canvas.
  • Dirt: While green hides dirt slightly better initially, it doesn’t prevent it.
Pro Tip: If you want to protect your investment and significantly multiply the lifespan of your tents, we highly recommend using a Fly All Season. It acts as a sacrificial layer against UV, rain, and debris.
